Medical and travel insurance

All visitors to New Zealand are required to have Medical and Travel Insurance to cover the costs of any medical treatment received during their time in New Zealand. Students will not be accepted on the course without appropriate medical insurance. It is strongly recommended that you purchase appropriate cover before you arrive. We can assist if required.

The Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) provides accident insurance for New Zealand citizens and residents, but you may still be liable for all other medical and related costs. More information can be found at

It is the students responsibility to attain a Class 1 Aviation Medical issued by an NZ CAA approved Medical Examiner prior to commencing the course. No student will be permitted to commence a course without a medical certificate. This can be done in New Zealand but it is preferable to have this completed prior to arrival. A list of approved local medical examiners is available here and a list of overseas examiners is available here.
