The Education (Pastoral Care of International Students) Code of Practice 2016 referred to as “The Code” has been developed by the New Zealand Government to ensure that when students come to study in New Zealand, education providers have an important responsibility to ensure that those students are well informed, safe and properly cared for.
The Code of Practice prescribes the required outcomes education providers and their agents need to deliver for their international students, and does not apply to concerns about academic standards.
The Code is applicable to all Education Providers that enroll International Students.
You can check the Ministry of Education website to see if your Provider is a signatory to the Code.
The New Zealand Qualification Authority (NZQA) is responsible for ensuring compliance with the Code. They can be contacted via their website.
